I’m happy to share that our paper, co-authored with Olivier Zehnder, has been published in Electronic Markets – The International Journal on Networked Business:
In this study, we take a longitudinal, data-driven approach to examine how gig economy research has evolved over time. Using bibliometric techniques such as co-citation, co-word analysis, and bibliographic coupling, we map the intellectual structure of the field and identify emerging directions.
Our findings show a shift from foundational topics like spatial crowdsourcing and worker well-being toward new applications in areas such as health research and ecological prevention. We hope this work offers a clear roadmap for understanding the future development of digital labor research.
